Find out about all aspects of 3D printing from where to source low-cost printing services, where to buy your own kit, to how to produce your own content. In this course you will model and print your own creation using SketchUp (Free Version). Training will be given by Paul Lee, a trained architect, product designer and SketchUp author-blogger. It will commence on the 1st May 2013 at 7.30pm until 9.00pm for 4 weeks. This will take place in Sample Studios, Sullivans Quay, Cork. Cost includes a 2.5x2.5x2.5cm sized print of your own design (within technical guidelines you will be provided with).
 

What will you be able to do when you finish this course?
 

You will:



• Understand the basic requirements for the production of 3D prints,

• Have insight into local and international 3D printing resources,

• Learn about 3D printing costs,

• Learn the different 3D printing materials and finishes available,

• Understand the basic differences between printable/ non-printable/ mass producable/ non-mass producable 3D designs,

• Understand how to fix a “broken” model,

• Learn about the basics of SketchUp solid modeling,

• Understand model integrity,

• Know where to get free and further paid specialist training.
